Do you photograph home births or hospital deliveries?

Yes, I photograph both home births and hospital deliveries. Whether it's a home birth, birthing centre, or hospital setting, I work with your birth team to ensure I capture your story in a way that’s respectful and unobtrusive.

Question 3

How far will you travel for a birth photography session?

Accepted Answer

I generally cover Cambridge and surrounding villages. However, I’m open to travelling further for a fee. Please enquire about my travel rates if you are outside my usual area.
If you are based in London, then I recommend a live-in situation close to the due date, there is an additional fee for this.

Question 4

What happens if I go into labour earlier or later than expected?

Labour can be unpredictable, and I understand that! Once you book me for birth photography, I’m on-call for you two weeks before and two weeks after your due date, from weeks 38-42.  I’ll do everything possible to be there when your baby arrives.

How do you ensure privacy during the birth photography session?

I respect your privacy and personal space throughout the process. Before the birth, we’ll discuss your comfort level, any preferences you have, and what moments you do or don’t want to be captured. I aim to document your birth in a way that reflects your preferences while honouring the sacredness of the experience.

How do I book a  birth session?

To book a session, simply contact me through the website’s contact form or email me directly. 
For birth photography, I suggest booking as soon as you can, as my diary books up fast. Due to the demanding nature of birth photography, I need to be on call for at least 4 weeks, this means I only take on 1 - 2 clients per month.

Will my birth photos be shared online?

I only share images online with your explicit permission. Birth is a private experience, and I respect your wishes regarding which, if any, photos are shared on my website or social media.

When should I schedule my maternity session?

Accepted Answer

To book a session, simply contact me through the website’s contact form or email me directly. It’s best to book your maternity session when you’re between 28-36 weeks pregnant, and for newborn sessions, I recommend booking during your pregnancy, ideally in your second or third trimester.

What should I wear for my maternity or family session?

For maternity sessions, I recommend flowy, comfortable outfits that highlight your bump. Light, neutral colours or soft patterns work beautifully in photographs. For family sessions, coordinating colours with minimal patterns are best. I can provide more specific guidance once we plan your session.

When should I schedule my newborn session?

Newborn sessions are best scheduled within the first 1-14 days after birth when babies are sleepiest and easiest to pose. However, I’m happy to capture beautiful moments with your newborn even if we’re outside this window.
It’s best to book your newborn sessions during your pregnancy, ideally in your second or third trimester.

How long does a maternity or newborn session last?

Maternity sessions typically last around 1-2 hours, depending on the location and number of outfit changes. Newborn sessions are more relaxed and can take 2-3 hours to allow for feeding, changing, and soothing the baby as needed.

Can we include siblings or pets in the newborn and family sessions?

Accepted Answer

Absolutely! I encourage including siblings and pets in family sessions, as they are an important part of your growing family. 
For the newborn sessions, we will take photos with the whole family first as siblings can get easily restless. I recommend you have toys ready for them to play with when we take photos of parents and baby. Pets and baby photos are welcome if your pets are comfortable with the baby and settled around the photography equpiment.

For maternity, newborn, and family sessions, you’ll receive your edited gallery within 4-6 weeks. Birth photography galleries typically take 6-12 weeks due to the nature of the event, the number of images taken, and editing process.
